Hello

I believe my love for reptiles was instilled in me at birth. I can't remember a time in my life when I did not have a true enthusiasm for them. I was not one of the lucky ones that actually was able to keep one as a pet for quite some time. Growing up with parents that had a huge phobia of these "slimy, creepy and just plain scary critters" I didn't stand a chance of convincing them to let me have one. To my great dismay this trend didn't change once I turned 18 and moved in with my girlfriend, soon to be wife. She also would have nothing to do with such "despicable" creatures. Once we did get married and had our only son Jake I decided it was time to try another approach so I told her that Jake really wanted a snake and I thought it would make a great pet for him. Guess what, it didn't work (damn it).

Well now, for the good part of my story. We got divorced after 13 years of marriage! No really, it's great. I guess there are rewards for most situations. Once she moved out it didn't take me long to act on the opportunity to get my first snake, after all I had to replace her with something (just a joke ladies). Ok I better clear this up, really I am just extremely jealous of all of you out there that have both a spouse and reptiles.

With the divorce and no outside opposition, the madness began. On a Sunday afternoon I decided to make a trip to the local snake shop in Quincy, IL. When I got to Snakeman's Snake Shop and found it closed I was all bummed out. As I was leaving, Gary (Snake) Liesen, the owner showed up on his day off to clean his snake cages. I ask him what his store hours were and to my surprise he let me in the store on his only day off to view his animals. Gary spent at least two hours showing me dozens of snakes, explaining each one and gladly doing so. I know I was a total pain-in-the-ass that day but we have become great friends. He supplies all my rodents plus we swap snakes and do a few breeder loans with each other. Needless to say that Sunday I left his store with a baby Andean Milksnake. By the way, to this day he (Buddy) is my favorite snake in my now extensive collection.

That is how it all started.

The growth rate of BRB Reptiles has been phenomenal over the years. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of this hobby/business. This is my life. I love meeting people with the same interest in reptiles that I have. I attend many shows throughout the year. I talk to other breeders and customers on a daily basis. I sell many reptiles over the internet. It is just better than I could have ever imagined and this is all thanks to you "the true reptile enthusiast". I pride myself in raising and reproducing the highest quality animals possible. I stand behind every sale I make. I am always available to answer any questions you may have whether you are new to our hobby or a long term repeat customer. Please don't hesitate to call anytime.
